LOVE

These mini cake pops were for a LGBT celebration.
I used a Styrofoam board to create the heart shape design.

The colors turned out so bright and beautiful!

And the pops were offered in two delicious flavors!

March Madness

 March Madness is here!

What better way to celebrate your favorite team than with basketball cake pops!  These cake pops were dipped in orange chocolate, coated with orange sanding sugar to add some texture, and then the lines were added using black candy melts.

Turquoise Take Two

Again, I love how bright and vibrant these turned out!
The green and turquoise gives a completely different look than the pink and turquoise.

Hockey Cake Pop Display

It's hockey time!  Here in MN the weather is freezing which means the outdoor rinks are frozen and ready for skating.  Just in time for this hockey cake pop display! We made the stand using hockey sticks, circular wood bases, and a hockey puck to top it off.

These pops were for an Eden Prairie Eagles event, but would look great in any team color!

(Baseball) Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

I created this dessert table for a baseball themed bachelorette party.  We started the night with food, drinks, and fun.  Followed by a night at a Minnesota Twins baseball game
This isn't quite dessert, but a baseball themed party can't be complete without hot dogs.

My all time favorite baseball treat, Malt Cups.

I love how these baseball player cake pops turned out!  I used a half of a chocolate wafer for the baseball hat and a pink Sixlet to look like bubble gum.

More fan favorites; licorice,
peanut butter filled pretzels,

and peanuts.
Congrats Maria!

Fore!

FORE!  I made these golf cake pops for a 30th surprise birthday party.  I rolled the cake balls and then put them in a chocolate golf ball mold.  I then attached each cake pop to a golf tee using melted chocolate.  Any golf enthusiast would love these!

Sweet Beginnings - Wedding Cake Pops

These cake pops were for a beautiful, rustic wedding which was held at a vineyard & barn.

The cake pops were decorated in the bride's favorite color, yellow.  They went great with the antique blue mason jars and yellow and white flowers.

Here is the gorgeous bride enjoying a treat!
We love you Mia!

Summer Lovin' - Wedding Cake Pops

These cake pops were for a beautiful summer wedding.  The wedding reception was held on a boat cruise on Lake Minnetonka.  It was such a beautiful night!

The wedding colors were lime green and coral, a great combo.

Key Lime was a new cake pop flavor that I made.  They were very refreshing and summery!

EP Eagles

Red and Black Eden Prairie Soccer Ball Cake Pops

I made these cake pops for a girl's birthday party.  The soccer balls were challenging but I was happy with how they turned out.  To make the soccer balls I cut pentagons out of a black Wilton sugar sheet and then stuck them to the cake balls using melted chocolate.  Let's GO EAGLES!

Whoo, whoo

I recently made these owl cake pops for my friend Heather's baby shower.  I really like how they turned out.  Super cute and they matched the baby shower decor.  I used candy from a candy necklace for the eyes, chocolate covered sunflower seeds for the wings, miniature colored chocolate chips for the beaks, and sprinkles for the feet.  For full instructions on how to create these cake pops check out Cake Pops by Bakerella.

Congrats Heather!  You will make a great mother!

New Year's Resolution

So I have been missing in action for awhile.  My New Year's resolution is to update my blog at least bi-weekly.  We'll see how that goes.  I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!  May 2012 bring joy and happiness!

BUNCO

I recently made cake pops for a family friend's BUNCO get together.  I thought it would be fun to make dice cake pops to go with the BUNCO theme. This was somewhat of a challenge as I have never made cube cake pops before.

Start by mixing your cake crumbs with 3/4 can of frosting.

Press the cake mixture into an 8x8" pan.  I wanted my dice to be approximately one inch in size, so I pressed the mixture into the pan so that it was one inch thick.

To compact the cake mixture and get a smooth top, place a piece of parchment paper on top of the mixture and roll with a small rolling pin.

Place the pan into the freezer for approximately 15 minutes.  Remove the pan and cut into cube shapes.  Or if you live in Minnesota, like I do, place the pan outside in the freezing cold winter.

Place a stick into the center of each cube.  Dip the stick into melted chocolate first.  This will help keep the cake pop on the stick when dipping the entire cake pop into the melted chocolate.

Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate and let dry.

Use sprinkles or frosting to decorate the dice.  Enjoy!
