Happy Birthday to my sweet baby girl! How can it be that a year has already flown by?!?!
To celebrate Gianna's birthday I created this adorable Mermaid dessert table.
Birthday guests were welcomed by this vintage mermaid sign and mermaid goody bags. The sign and all other printables in this post were purchased from Etsy shop Meghilys. The mermaid pouches were purchased from Etsy shop EverlongEvents. I loved the vintage looking mermaids, they are so cute and whimsical.
The pouches contained 'mermaid treasure' which I found at Party City.
To wash down all of the sweet treats I offered Izzy soda wrapped in mermaid printables from Meghilys (see link above), along with bottled water and adult beverages.
My mom contributed to the dessert table by baking these adorable AND delicious sand dollar cookies. She used a family favorite snicker doodle recipe and added sliced almonds when the cookies were fresh out of the oven.
These cookies were my favorite treat at the party!
I love making cakes but don't have the time to do it often enough. I made two cakes for the party, the larger cake was for all of the guests to enjoy and the smaller cake was a smash cake for my little one.
The cake flavors were vanilla and lemon. I whipped up homemade butter cream frosting and used pearl sixlets, chocolate shells, and brown sugar to decorate the cake. I piped the ruffles using an ombre effect to make the bottom layer look like ocean waves. There are many tutorials on YouTube on this technique.
The smash cake was also decorated with ocean waves. Unfortunately by the time I gave the cake to my one year old, she was not in the mood for any more treats and didn't get into the cake as I had hoped.
And of course, no party of mine is complete without cake pops! I LOVE how these turned out. I used a variety of sprinkle sizes/colors to get this look.
The chocolate seashells were used throughout the table for decoration. I made these chocolates using seashell molds that I purchased at a local cake supply store. After molding the chocolates, I lightly brushed them with water and then brushed edible glitter over them to add some sparkle.
Along with the mermaid treasure bags, I sent these mermaid cookies home with guests. These were purchased from Etsy shop TSCookies. I've ordered cookies from TSCookies multiple times. They always look and taste amazing!
I couldn't be more happy with how the dessert table for the party turned out. Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter!!
